If you know Duane, you know he’s one of the funniest, kindest, and most entertaining people around. He is also a great dad to Drew his 25 year old son and awesome dog dad to Dink and Dixie who depend on his love. Whether he’s making people laugh on stage, lifting up friends with his humor, or brightening a room just by being in it — he’s always been one to give joy to others.
Now, he needs a little help from his community.
Recently, Duane developed a diabetic toe ulcer that unfortunately became infected with staph, which spread to his bone. What started as a small issue quickly turned into a serious medical situation. After being hospitalized for nearly 10 days and undergoing surgery, he will soon have a PICC line to administer IV antibiotics daily to save his toe and avoid amputation.
Because of the severity of the infection, doctors have ordered him to stay completely off his feet and he won’t be able to return to work until January 4th. Duane works in the service industry, he doesn’t have paid leave or disability benefits to fall back on — and the medical bills, along with everyday living expenses, are starting to pile up.
We’re asking for help to cover his rent, utilities, and medical costs during this 8-week recovery period so he can focus entirely on healing and being with his loving dogs, Dink and Dixie (who he rescued).
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you can’t give financially, please consider sharing this link and keeping Duane in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider any level of support. Let’s help Duane stay strong, heal fully, and get back on his feet — literally and figuratively. ❤️
and as Duane said to me when I asked him if I could create this fund raiser:
“Help the heaux, with the fucked up toe not be homeless and toeless.”
