Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out for help for my sweet boy, Drogo. I recently rescued him from the shelter—he had been there for a long time and was one of their most overlooked dogs. The moment I saw him, I knew he was meant to be part of our family. He’s gentle, calm, and already so full of love… it truly feels like he rescued us as much as we rescued him.
Unfortunately, soon after bringing him home, I discovered a large mass on his foot. It’s open, infected, and painful. My heart broke when I saw it… it brought back memories of losing my girl Mia to a tumor, and now it feels like I’m reliving that heartbreak all over again. Drogo deserves a chance to heal and live the happy life he just started to have. It has doubled in size in 24 hours and we are unfortunately still trying to pay off Mia’s last day here on earth.
DAS believes the mass will need testing, treatment, and likely surgery to remove it and prevent the infection from spreading. DAS told me they would remove it when he went under for neutering, they did not. They also said before I fostered with him that they partnered with 2 vets to help with costs. Now they are saying that is not true either. Between diagnostics, antibiotics, pain management, and potential surgery, the costs are quickly adding up—far beyond what I can handle alone.
Drogo is such a good boy. He’s already been through so much, and I just want to give him the care and comfort he deserves. Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly toward his veterinary care and healing.
If you’re not able to donate, sharing this post helps more than you know. Thank you for helping me give Drogo the second chance he’s waited so long for.
With love and gratitude,
Kreymer -Austin family
