‏My name is Dr. Izzeldin Shaheen, and I am an anesthesia and care doctor who worked at al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City at the beginning of the 2023 Gaza war. Due to the war, my house, along with my family's and my wife's family's homes, were destroyed. We had to evacuate from the north of Gaza to the south, along with hundreds of thousands of civilians, to seek shelter. I am currently working at Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital, which is the only hospital located in the middle of the Gaza Strip in Deir al-Balah. I have been working non-stop without a salary since the start of the war. It is becoming increasingly difficult to be away from my wife and our only child. Every passing day, my child's health and malnutrition worsen, and I feel helpless trying to support them.

‏At the first days of the war, working in AlShifa hospital was extremely stressful and exhausting. I barely got back to my home from the several shifts I was covering. My wife, Sarah, used to sleep at night with the rest of my family, to feel more safe. Until that day she phoned me and said,: “don’t get hurry to come home, our home is no longer exists” And since then, we’ve displaced for five times in five months.

‏This is not my first try to travel. In 2021 during Covid19 I managed to get the visa to Germany in order to pursue my PHD in Anesthesia & intensive care there. But I couldn’t make it to travel because of the closure of Rafah Crossing border due to Covid crises.

‏I am launching this campaign to collect the necessary funds that I need to evacuate myself along with my wife and our child to Egypt. Your support will help our desperate family feel safe again and have a better tomorrow. I am asking for 15,000€, which breaks down into the following costs:

‏- 5000€ for the Egyptian coordination for each adult person

‏- 3,000€ for a child

‏- The remaining 2000€ will be running costs for us to get to Egypt to live with my wife’s family.

Debido a la guerra, mi casa, junto con las casas de mi familia y de la familia de mi esposa, fueron destruidas. Tuvimos que evacuar desde el norte de Gaza hacia el sur, junto con cientos de miles de civiles, para buscar refugio. En 2021, durante Covid19, logré obtener la visa para Alemania para seguir mi doctorado en Anestesiología e cuidados intensivos allí. Pero no pude viajar debido al cierre de la frontera del cruce de Rafah debido a la crisis de Covid.Estoy lanzando esta campaña para recaudar los fondos necesarios que necesito para evacuarme junto con mi esposa y nuestro hijo a Egipto. Tu apoyo ayudará a nuestra desesperada familia a sentirse segura nuevamente y a tener un mejor mañana.
