Help Driyah Honor Sky’s Memory and Bring Star Home

On June 14, 2026 our beloved friend Driyah and her mother Carolyn received the devastating news that no grandparents should ever have to hear—their precious 20-month-old granddaughter, Sky, had passed away.

For nearly two years, Driyah and Carolyn had been separated from their granddaughters and had been trying tirelessly to reconnect with them. Despite their efforts, they were unable to see or communicate with the children. The sudden loss of Sky has left Driyah, Carolyn and their family heartbroken and searching for answers.

In the midst of this unimaginable tragedy, Driyah immediately began making arrangements to travel to St. Louis, Missouri, where she learned that her other granddaughter, 3-year-old Star, had been placed into protective custody. Driyah is now preparing to do everything legally possible to provide a safe, loving, and stable home for Star.

As Driyah grieves the loss of Sky, she is facing significant and unexpected expenses, including:

• Funeral and burial expenses for Sky
• Emergency travel costs to St. Louis


• Legal fees associated with seeking custody of Star


• Court-related expenses and documentation


• Ongoing costs to prepare for Star’s care and transition into a stable home environment

No family should have to endure such heartbreak while also carrying the financial burden that follows.
