In Memory of Drix Niemann

Hello Everyone,

As friends of the Niemann family, we’re reaching out to you because they need our help. While many of you who will see this fundraiser have various special relationships with the Niemanns, ours began over 15 years ago when our children all developed their love for the Wilmington theatre community alongside JJ. Drix and Judi have remained wonderful friends and we’ve all shared a trip or two to NY to celebrate JJ’s Broadway successes. When they aren’t in NYC, you’ll still find Drix and Judi at Thalian Hall continuing to faithfully support Wilmington’s local talent.

Although they have remained quiet about it, Drix has been fighting a difficult battle in the ICU at a Greensboro hospital for over a month. He underwent a lung biopsy and has faced serious complications requiring intensive care. For the past month, Judi and the rest of his family have been by his side.

Now, they face another significant hurdle. Drix needs to be transferred by ICU critical care transportation from Greensboro to the ICU in Wilmington. This transfer is essential for Drix's continued care and recovery, and also for Judi's well-being, as they need to be closer to home and to their support network of family and friends. Judi has been staying in a hotel and with that alone she has already spent over $2,600 in lodging. Managing all the expenses of being away from home has become overwhelming.

The financial strain on the family has been immense, and this ICU critical care transfer adds another significant burden. We are hopeful that we can all come together and raise enough funds to help alleviate this stress.

Drix and the Niemanns have always been deeply encouraging of those they know and love. They have undoubtedly been among the first to reach out to anyone in need to offer kindness and support. Now they need our help. Drix is a strong individual. We are praying for his full recovery and appreciate any support you can provide them during this challenging time.
