Help Drip Gelato: A Community Effort Through Group Economics
Donation protected
Hey everyone,
I’m Shani B., owner of Drip Gelato & Café in Bayonne, NJ. I’m reaching out today with a cause that’s very close to my heart.
In recent months, I’ve seen how powerful group economics have been for Black and Brown businesses. Influencers and moguls have been shining a light on how collective support is helping many entrepreneurs like myself survive during these challenging times.
Unfortunately, since last year, DRIP has struggled and faced one of the worst financial years due to unexpected circumstances, and things have only gotten more crucial as we approach today. This business has always been more than just an ice cream shop; it’s a community space and safe haven for inclusivity and expression for many, and that’s why I’m asking for your help to keep our vision alive.
Right now, we NEED to fix, renovate, and expand our menu to stay open and continue providing a collaborative space for us, by us in the city of Bayonne, NJ.
I’ve already reached out to close family and friends, and now I’m extending this ask to you all because I believe in this business, and the mission — No shame — we need this, and I’m willing to do whatever it takes to push the vision forward.
It’s bigger than just keeping the business going—it’s truly about building and sustaining the community we created. Beyond expanding our menu and offerings, we want to make Drip Gelato a hub for creatives, visionaries, and students to come together and mastermind their projects.
With Black businesses struggling due to a lack of resources and support, we know it truly takes a village to keep them afloat. So much that I’m even willing to share a piece of the pie with anyone who donates $1,000 or more, offering shareholder incentives because I believe in this so much. If you’re interested in a shareholder opportunity, please comment below or send me a private DM to set up a screening conversation where we can discuss the proposal in detail.
But honestly, it would be amazing to receive support without needing to offer anything in return. Those who know me know I’m passionate and selfless when it comes to my work, but I can’t do this alone.
So, I’m asking for your support, brainpower, creativity, resources, or donations—anything you can contribute will help.
Let’s keep pushing forward together through group economics and show that community matters. Your support will not only help elevate Drip Gelato but also provide a creative space for the next generation of entrepreneurs.
With gratitude,
Shani B.
