Hi, my name is Drew Sarhan. I am a sophomore journalism student at LSU, and I need some help getting myself to Washington D.C. in collaboration with my senior college of the Manship School of Mass Communication. I want to take this study abroad opportunity because I would like to one day work on Capitol Hill — either as a reporter or a congressperson. I feel like the American public deserves to know how the sausage actually gets made, and I’d love to be able to experience that personally. Not only would it make me a better student, but it would also broaden my horizons and allow me to further my education.

The funds raised will help cover my flights, room and board, and tuition for the study abroad program. This support will allow me to stay in the Georgetown dorms with my classmates, learn from Jack Hamilton, the first dean of the Manship School, and speak with congresspeople while on the hill. This experience is a crucial step toward my dream of working on Capitol Hill and making a difference through journalism or public service.
