Help Drew Navigate Unimaginable Loss

On the morning of April 28th, Drew (28) and his little sister Cassie (20) lost their father, grandparents, and several family pets in a devastating house fire. Words cannot begin to express the heartbreak they are enduring. They spent last week burying the family pets and salvaging what they could from the house. As next of kin for his father, Drew is also coping with the complexities that come with deaths of loved ones, including planning three funerals without financial means.

Their father, Chuck (54), had recently moved back home from Tennessee to be closer to family. He was staying with his parents, Sam (74) and Phyllis (74), who were high school sweethearts married for 55 years, most of which they spent in their family home. Based on what has been gathered, Chuck placed the 911 call and initially escaped the fire. But he went back inside to save his parents and the family pets, which makes all of their losses even more heart-wrenching.

As Drew's mother, I wish I could erase this tragedy, or at the very least remove his financial burden, but I don't have the means. So I am asking for your help. Anyone who knows Drew knows the size of his heart—he is so kind, generous, and supportive of others. He rescues animals, donates some of what little he has, and gives people the shirt off his back. Drew doesn't deserve this burden, financial or otherwise. No one does.
