Help Drew Navigate Unimaginable Loss
Donation protected
To help Drew, his little sister Cassie, and his aunt cover costs for funerals and related expenses for their three loved ones who lost their lives in a house fire.
On the morning of April 28th, a devastating house fire claimed the lives of Drew’s and Cassie's father, Chuck Lauck, and their grandfather, Sam. Their grandmother, Phyllis, is currently in the ICU and is being taken off life support. Tragically, several beloved family pets also perished. Words cannot begin to express the heartbreak the family is enduring.
Chuck had recently moved back home from Tennessee to be closer to family and was staying with his parents—high school sweethearts married for 55 years, most of which they spent in their family home. Based on what has been gathered, Chuck placed the 911 call and initially escaped the fire. But he went back inside to save his parents and the family pets, which makes his loss of life all the more heart-wrenching.
Chuck was just 54 years old. With no plan in place for this unimaginable loss, the responsibility now falls to Drew, his oldest child at just 28, as next of kin. Alongside his profound grief, Drew is facing the heavy burden of navigating the complexities of this tragedy, including arranging his father’s funeral and assisting his aunt with his grandparent's as well.
Anyone who knows Drew knows the size of his heart—he would give and has given the shirt off his back. But asking for help is incredibly hard for him. I know he won’t do it so I’m doing it on his behalf.
As his mother, I wish I could undo this tragedy or at least shoulder the financial burden myself, but I simply don’t have the means. If you are able to contribute, no amount is too small. Your generosity will help ease some of the immediate financial strain and allow Drew and Cassie to focus on grieving and healing.
If you’re not in a position to give, please keep Drew, Cassie, and our families in your thoughts and prayers.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you.
