Help Dream Chasers Coffee Rebuild

We never imagined we would be writing this.

After pouring our hearts, time, savings, equipment, and energy into building Valletta Espresso Bar, we were forced to close unexpectedly due to circumstances tied to the location that were outside of our control.

Because there is ongoing litigation connected to the property and closure, we are limited in what we can say publicly right now. What we can say is this:

We built Dream Chasers Coffee with everything we had.

We are Leo and Brittani Maggio, a husband-and-wife team who have spent years serving our community through coffee, hospitality, creativity, and hard work. Our story started with a first date at a café on King Street in Old Town Alexandria. That shared love for coffee and community eventually became something much bigger.

In 2020, after getting married, we used our honeymoon money to buy our first commercial air roaster. That was the beginning of Dream Chasers Coffee.

Since then, we have worked tirelessly to build something meaningful. We have roasted coffee for businesses across the DMV, served guests with care, and chased the dream of creating a space that felt warm, creative, and full of life.

Valletta Espresso Bar was a major step toward that dream.

Even though that chapter was cut short, the dream is not over.

Right now, we are in the difficult position of rebuilding from an unexpected shutdown while also preparing for what comes next. We are raising funds to help cover the real and immediate costs of starting again, including:

-replacement equipment and operational essentials

-inventory and supplies

-relocation expenses

-legal fees

-buildout costs for a future standalone café

short-term support as we transition and rebuild

Our goal is not just to recover. Our goal is to reopen stronger, wiser, and more rooted than ever.

We believe Dream Chasers Coffee still has more to give. More coffee to roast. More people to serve. More community to build. More dreams to fuel.
