My name is Dream, and I am a junior at West High with a passion for learning and making a difference. This summer, I have the incredible opportunity to attend the Yale Young Global Scholars program—a prestigious college prep camp that brings together students from around the world. The program features inspiring guest speakers, engaging lectures, and hands-on educational projects designed to help students grow academically and personally. It’s also a residential experience, giving me a real taste of college life and preparing me for the next steps in my education.

At the time I applied, I could pay the full tuition, but since then, my financial situation has changed drastically. My father was laid off in November, and my mother worked part-time to cover our expenses and collected unemployment benefits. At the moment, my mother is working full-time, but after insurance costs, her paycheck is $733 biweekly for our family of five. The current tuition is a third of our savings and is unaffordable before the March 15th payment deadline. My father will start work on March 31st, but we need help before then.
