Help Drake Study Abroad in Japan

Hello! My name is Drake Harbolt. I am a junior at Murray State University and my major is Japanese Translation and Interpretation and a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). It has always been my dream to travel the world and experience different cultures. I am excited to announce that I have been selected to participate in a semester-long study abroad program in the spring/summer of 2023 in Kyoto, Japan at Doshisha University.

Although I have received some financial aid through loans and scholarships, the cost of attendance is still very high. This is a very important opportunity for me in terms of my life and career. Being immersed in a culture is crucial to becoming fluent in a language, which is critical for my career. I also hope to learn more about myself by being forced to step out of my comfort zone and learning to experience life from a different perspective.

Any donations would be extremely beneficial to help with my cost of transportation, meals, travel expenses, housing, and more, but the majority of this fund will be used for my plane ticket.
