A visit to the vet for a limp in Drake’s front leg, quickly became a nightmare we never saw coming. An X-ray revealed that Drake had a tumor in his left shoulder. Drake was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in his shoulder a couple weeks ago. Osteosarcoma is a very aggressive and painful bone cancer that more than likely has already spread by the time a dog is diagnosed. After talking to our vet and speaking to recommended specialists. It was agreed upon that the best and most aggressive form of action was to amputate his front left limb to relieve his pain while also removing the primary tumor and to follow up with chemotherapy. We love our baby boy as he is our first dog that either of us has ever owned and we would and will do anything for him. Vet bills, surgery, and chemotherapy are running us upwards of almost $10,000 and we would greatly appreciate any help from those who know and love our Drake as well as any fellow animal lovers.
