Dr. Saba- a hero and COVID 19 survivor!
Dr. Sabarartham Shangmugananthan is an internist who has taken care of the underserved population of Brooklyn for last 27 years. He contracted COVID in the very first few weeks when the pandemic hit NYC in March, 2020 while treating COVID patients. After being admitted to a hospital on March 28th, his condition rapidly worsened and he had multi organ failure with many complications. Dr. Saba and his family fought bravely for 10 months and 7 days of hospitalization and rehab when he finally returned home on February 3rd, 2021. He still has a long road to recovery, and we hope to help him and his family along the way. Dr. Saba is one of the kindest human beings and an exemplary physician. We aim to help him and his family in these hard times through this platform.
