I am Helen Paniagua, a colleague of Dr. Mehry Gharib at Central Neighborhood Christian Health Clinics. I have had the privilege of working alongside her for the past 3.5 years as the Human Resources Director. Today, I am reaching out on her behalf to ask for your support during an incredibly difficult time.

Dr. Gharib and her husband, Eskandar Gharib, have experienced a heartbreaking loss. Their home in Pacific Palisades, a place filled with cherished memories and love, was destroyed in a devastating fire. Dr. Gharib was at work, tirelessly serving her patients and families, when the tragedy occurred, leaving her unable to save anything from their home.

Eskandar built their home with love and dedication for his wife, making this loss even more devastating. Tragically, they are among the many families impacted by the loss of fire insurance coverage, leaving them in an overwhelming position as they try to rebuild their lives.

Dr. Gharib has dedicated over 30 years of her life as a pediatrician, serving underserved communities with unwavering compassion and kindness. She has cared for thousands of children and their mothers, never judging, always fighting for their well-being. Her work has touched countless lives, and her commitment to caring for poor and vulnerable families is unparalleled.

Now, it’s our turn to extend that same compassion to her. Our goal is to help Dr. Gharib and Eskandar get back on their feet, rebuilding what they’ve lost and easing the burdens they now face.
