I am Andrew Konen. I have been in private practice interventional and medical pain management for over 25 years. I offer almost every available procedural modality and manage highly complex medications for patients with innumerable chronic pain conditions.
I now find myself in the fight of my life. The DEA is trying to suspend my ability to provide controlled substances to my patients that desperately need them. I've done nothing wrong and none of my patients have been damaged or injured. They just do not agree with this type of medical care anymore, for no good reason. Pain management patients and physicians had nothing to do with the "opiate crisis". It is a crisis of fentanyl in the illegal drugs. If they succeed, it will cutoff access to legitimate pain medications and many of my patients will suffer terribly and some may possibly die.
It is an extremely expensive proposition to defend yourself against a government agency. They consider you guilty until proven innocent. Independent physicians struggle to stay in business between constant insurance and government cuts. I am asking for your help in this endeavor to save your access to legitimate pain management. Anything that you can contribute will be helpful and eternally appreciated.
They pulled 3 patients charts and got an "expert" to disagree with my care. It is the same one as in this link.
