This fund supports Dr. Jamarie Geller, MD, MA in a groundbreaking international project that aims to advance care for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
I will be collaboratating with a pioneering clinic delivering MDMA-assisted psychotherapy (MDMA-AP) for PTSD - one of the first in the world to offer this treatment legally as part of standard medical care. This would be part of a research initiative to publish data about this novel therapy.
Although PTSD is common and often devastating, many current treatments are insufficient. Clinical trials in the U.S. have shown MDMA-AP to be safe and effective, but the FDA has declined to approve it. Australia, however, has taken a bold step forward by legalizing MDMA-AP for clinical use.
This project aims to:
- Publish the first real-world data on MDMA therapy for PTSD in a legal clinical setting
- Evaluate outcomes, safety, and accessibility of care outside of controlled trial conditions
- Explore how these therapies can be delivered responsibly and ethically, especially for vulnerable populations
- Foster global collaboration to guide the safe adoption of psychedelic treatments
Jamarie Geller is a recently graduated child and adult psychiatrist and psychotherapist, researcher, and community health enthusiast. She will share what she learns to support ethical, evidence-informed care in the U.S. and beyond.
Because this work lies outside of traditional research funding pathways, we're seeking community support to help make it possible.
Every contribution helps bridge the gap between science, healing, and access - and will be matched!!
