Hi, my name is Alyssa. I’m 19 years old and in college, and this is my best friend, Dozer. He’s been with me through everything: my hardest days, my loneliest nights, every moment I thought I couldn’t keep going. He’s been my reason to smile, my comfort, and my family.
A little while ago he was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis, a condition that makes it almost impossible for him to breathe. Every time he walks, or even gets a little excited, he starts gasping for air, most times causing even his tongue to turn blue. Watching him struggle like that is the most heartbreaking thing I’ve ever experienced.
He is in need of the laryngeal paralysis tie back surgery which could save his life, but it costs up to $4,000. I’m a full-time college student paying my own way through school and already doing my best to keep up with vet bills and just can’t afford the surgery on my own, no matter how much I want to.
I don’t want to lose him because of money. He deserves a chance to breathe again, to live without pain, to keep being the happy, loving soul he’s always been.
If you can help, even $1 or by sharing this page, it would mean the world to me. Every bit brings us closer to giving him the life he deserves.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for caring about my boy.
