Help Doyin represent Canada at the World University Games!

Hi!

My name is Doyin Ogunremi, I'm a 5th year student in Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa. I am a proud Gee Gees track and field athlete and have been a member of the Ottawa Lions track club for almost 10 years!

I've spent the last decade working towards my goal of representing Canada in the sport I love. That's why I'm beyond thrilled to announce that I have been selected to represent Team Canada at the World University Games (FISU) in Germany this July! I have been selected for the 200m and both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay pools. This nomination means the absolute world to me as this will be my first (& hopefully not last!) time donning the red & white on the global stage!

FISU is a multi-sport, international competition and is a huge stepping stone for my athletic journey. This will be an amazing opportunity for me to be on an national team, compete at the highest level of competition and stretch myself as an athlete and individual. I'm humbled to be nominated for this team and I have been working extremely hard to ensure that I am prepared to perform well for my country this July!

Unfortunately, this competition is not financially supported by Athletics Canada and requires athletes to cover all costs including flight, ground transportation, medical & missions staff support, accommodation, food and administration amounting to $5500 CAD.

I would not have been able to make it this far in my track career without the support of my family, friends, teammates, coaches & club. It truly takes a village!
