My sons friend was shot in the leg in downtown Mobile, while trying to bring in the new year. The impact broke her leg. She was an innocent bystander that happened to be walking by & was hit by a stray bullet.
They made their way to the side of a building to take cover from the gunfire & discovered nobody had a signal to call for help! My son used a jacket to make a tourniquet to apply pressure to her leg to try to control the bleeding! He ran back towards the chaos to find a police officer to call for an ambulance!
She is an International student from Bangladesh. She is here alone to get an education at the University of South Alabama. All of her family are in Bangladesh.
My son hasn’t left her side since the incident. He wants to help her any way he can. He is also a full time student at South.
She needs our help with medical bills, expenses for medications & other future expenses, such as physical therapy etc., related to this horrible tragedy! I will be getting some crutches for her so she can get around when able. She has a long road ahead of her as she heals the physical wounds & deals with the emotional trauma this has caused her.
