Help Dowden Family Recover from Storm Damage
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Elizabeth, I have been lucky enough to have been a friend of the Dowden family for over 20 years. Brandon, Krissy and I came into adulthood together. I've had the joy of watching both of their girls, Lovie and Goldie, grow up into wonderful young women. This past week Lafayette, LA was hit with 2 storms that produced category 1 hurricane force winds and rain; in both of these storms the Dowden family home was damaged by a large tree.
On Monday, May 13th, the first storm came through quickly and with little warning. In this storm a large tree came down, taking out their fence, shed, and back patio. Unfortunately, the damage did not meet their insurance deductible, and they had resolved that it would be a lot of clean up but nothing that they could not manage.
Only 3 days later, on Thursday night, a second storm came through. Krissy and the girls spent the evening in a tub with a mattress over them as the already fallen tree pierced through their roof into their living room ceiling.
This is a family that has always helped others when needed and I am asking if you have the ability to reach out to help them in their time of need. The Dowden's need help with the following: fix the hole in the roof/ ceiling, clean up the fallen tree, clean up damage to the fence, shed and patio, tree trimming for the remaining large tree in the yard ahead of hurricane season.
