Help Dourgam & his family who are currently trapped in Gaz

My name is Dourgam, I am 25 years old, and I am reaching out to you for help. The genocide in Gaza has turned my life and the lives of my loved ones into a nightmare. My family has lost everything—our home, our stability, our safety.

We used to live in northern Gaza, but as the attacks intensified, we were forced to flee south to Deir al-Balah. Our home was destroyed by shelling, and we now find ourselves living in a makeshift tent that collapsed during heavy rain, leaving us exposed to the cold and disease.

I come from a family of eight—three boys, three girls, my parents, and myself. We have no electricity, no clean water, and cook what little food we have over an open fire. The cost of food and basic necessities has skyrocketed, making survival an everyday struggle. There is no access to healthcare, no schools, and no businesses left standing. Prices for basic necessities like vegetables, fruits, and even cleaning supplies have risen beyond reach. The lack of sanitation has led to widespread illness, but medical care is nearly nonexistent.

Every single day, I live in fear. The sound of drones flying above my head is constant, a chilling reminder that danger is always near. Explosions echo in the distance, sometimes far away, sometimes terrifyingly close. There is no silence, no peace, no moment of relief from the violence that surrounds us. The uncertainty, the fear of when the next strike will come, is overwhelming.

Beyond the physical suffering, the emotional toll is devastating. I have lost many of my closest friends to this violence—people I grew up with, people I loved. The grief is unbearable, and the constant fear and uncertainty have deeply affected my mental health. Every day feels like a battle to hold on, to stay strong for my family, and to not lose hope.

I am asking for your help. My dream is to find a small rented room as seen above where my family can have shelter, safety, and dignity. We also desperately need food, as prices have become unbearable and many items are completely unavailable. Please, if you can, donate—any amount helps. And if you cannot donate, please share our story. Your kindness and solidarity mean more than you can imagine.
