This is Alena and Hailey, and we are writing this with a very heavy heart. Our sweet Goldendoodle, Douglas, has been more than just a pet; he’s our partner in bringing comfort and joy to others. Douglas is a certified therapy dog who has spent countless hours visiting schools, hospitals, and community programs, offering love, calm, and smiles to people who need them most.

Recently, we received devastating news: Douglas has been diagnosed with melanoma. He has already undergone surgery, but the pathology results show that the tumor is aggressive. Now, Douglas urgently needs a second surgery and specialized oncology care to give him the best chance at recovery and more happy, tail-wagging years ahead.

Between the surgical procedures, advanced imaging, oncology consults, and follow-up treatments, the costs are far beyond what I can manage alone. I never imagined I’d be here asking for help, but Douglas means the world to me and to so many others whose lives he’s touched.
