If you’ve ever met Douglas, you know he’s more than just a dog — he’s a friend, a joy-spreader, and a beloved part of our family and community. Douglas lives for two things: loving his people and chasing his favorite ball. He’s also a *happy screamer* — his excited howls and joyful yelps are part of what makes him so uniquely, hilariously Douglas.

Sadly, during a freak accident while doing just that, Douglas suffered a serious spinal injury.

We don’t know exactly how it happened, but vets have found a chipped disc lodged in his spine, leaving his back legs paralyzed. It’s heartbreaking — but Douglas is still the same strong, happy, resilient pup he’s always been. He’s been in the hospital for two nights, showing his usual spirit and bravery even through pain.

Now that he is home and his recovery has started; We are trying to come up with \$10,000 to help cover Douglas's medical expenses and the major lifestyle changes ahead. This includes:

* Veterinary care and diagnostics

* A custom-fitted dog wheelchair

* Home modifications like ramps to make our apartment wheelchair accessible

* Physical therapy and mobility aids to give him the best quality of life possible
