Dougie is a 3 year-old French Bulldog/Boston Terrier mix who recently underwent emergency spinal surgery after being diagnosed with IVDD, a degenerative disc disease common in the breed.
In just a matter of days, he went from walking slightly off to losing mobility in his back legs and bladder control. After steroids failed to reduce the swelling in his spine, he required urgent surgery with a neurologist. Thankfully the surgery was successful. He has an 85-90% chance of walking normally again.
Dougie now faces a long and challenging road to recovery. He is currently on strict crate rest and will require extensive recovery care, follow-up appointments, and physical therapy to regain strength and mobility.
While Dougie was once part of our family, he is now lovingly cared for by Lauren and Travis, who have given him the best home and life a doggy could ask for. We are organizing this fundraiser on their behalf to help support and offset the unexpected costs of his emergency surgery and continued rehabilitation. All funds raised will go directly to Lauren and Travis and will go towards:
• Emergency surgery and hospital bills
• Ongoing veterinary care
• Rehabilitation and physical therapy
• Medications and recovery support
Dougie is the sweetest boy, and he deserves every chance at a full and happy life. If you feel led to donate, share, or simply keep him in your thoughts, it would mean so much.
