Doug has always been an active and independent person, but after a misdiagnosed virus caused a permanent disability, his life changed dramatically. Now reliant on a wheelchair, Doug faces daily challenges in a home that isn’t equipped for his needs. His family is doing everything they can to support him, but the house’s current layout makes even simple routines difficult and limits his ability to enjoy the outdoors, something he truly loves.
Doug has handled this with incredible grace and patience, supported by amazing friends and co-workers. Now his family is taking steps to accept this new normal. His children and spouse are grieving the Doug they knew, but they’re also learning to cherish each day and create new memories. They are grateful he’s still here with them, and his spouse promises to do everything possible to ensure Doug lives his life to the fullest.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward essential home modifications. The most urgent need is a bathroom remodel to accommodate Doug’s wheelchair, along with wider doorways and a wheelchair ramp for the front door. These changes will help Doug regain his independence, maintain his dignity, and allow him to spend more time outside with his loved ones.
To those of you who have already done so much, thank you. Please pray for Doug and his family, and if you’re able, consider donating. Anything and everything helps, and your kindness will make a lasting difference in Doug’s life.
