My name is Doug, and I’m reaching out because the recent ice storm that swept through Mississippi and surrounding states has left me in a difficult situation. For over a week, I’ve been without power, and keeping my house warm has meant relying on a propane fireplace, which is quickly becoming very expensive. The road conditions and the impact on my company have made it impossible for me to work, so I haven’t been able to earn an income during this time.

On top of that, falling trees destroyed the fence in my backyard, adding another unexpected expense to an already stressful situation. The bills are piling up, and the uncertainty of when things will return to normal has made it hard to see a way forward. The funds from this fundraiser will help me replace the fence when I’m able, catch up on bills, and supplement the wages I’ve lost while I’ve been unable to work.

I generally don’t ask for help, and I hate the idea of handouts, but any support is immensely appreciated.
