A few years ago, Doug was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. He fought hard through treatment, endured endless hospital visits, and even celebrated a period of remission. But recently, we got devastating news: his cancer isn’t going away. He’s now facing indefinite, lifelong chemotherapy.
This changes everything. His doctors have told him it’s time to leave the job he’s held for years, apply for permanent disability, and restructure his life completely. That’s not easy to accept when you’re not even 30 years old and you’ve always been independent, hardworking, and full of plans for the future.
Through all of this, Doug has stayed positive — saying “it could be worse” even when it’s hard for the rest of us to see how. But the reality is, this diagnosis will create financial strain for years to come. Between medical costs, daily living expenses, and the challenges of living on disability income, Doug needs help to stay stable while focusing on his health.
This fundraiser is to help take some of that weight off his shoulders — to cover basic expenses, transportation to treatments, and to give him the breathing room to focus on healing without worrying about how to keep a roof over his head.
If you know Doug, you know he’d never ask for this himself. But I’m asking — because he’s someone worth fighting for.
Every donation, big or small, will help give him the security he needs to face this fight. If you can’t donate, sharing this campaign means just as much.
Thank you for helping us keep Doug’s life as steady and full of love as it can be, no matter what lies ahead.
