Hi, my name is Doug Bender.

I am a 62-year-old man. I recently had my right leg amputated. I am also suffering renal failure from strong antibiotics. I won't get a prosthetic leg and foot for a few months.

I don't like to beg because it makes me feel like a bum. I have exhausted all resources available here. I desperately need a twin bed. I've been sleeping in an old beat-up recliner, and it is very difficult to get in and out of. Just a cheap frame and mattress is all I need.

I also need lumber for a ramp. I have fallen off it in my wheelchair and had to call the fire department to pick me up. I have Dr. appointments and dialysis every day, and it scares me to go down those two boards. Social services have no money for these items, and the senior center can't help either.

I know there are a lot of people lying on here just to get money. My needs are real. I have a couple of friends to help with the ramp building.
