Hi friends, my name is Angie. I recently became aware of an older couple named Doug and Suzy who are staying here in Carroll and are without housing. They are currently living in their vehicle. They are both disabled, the Suzy more severely. I won't share the details of their disabilities here but I'll just say that listening to their story literally broke my heart. They are the sweetest people, and going through probably the roughest time of their lives. They made the tough decision to leave their previous home and move across the state but their vehicle didn't make it. Their transmission went out. They sold everything they could and spent all of the money they had to fix their truck, which has pretty much left them stranded with nothing. We took them some groceries today, but what they really need is help with getting into an apartment. It sounds like a few people in town have been helping them with food and possibly paying for a camp site, but they aren't sure how they'll pay for the next week. Living in a truck is not ok for anyone, let alone someone with a physical disability. Any amount of help would be greatly appreciated and will go straight to Doug and Suzy to help with getting them somewhere safe and warm to sleep.
