Dotty is a sweet, sassy, 13-year-old cat who means the world to her family. She may not be a kitten anymore, but with the right care, she still has many good years ahead. Right now, Dotty is facing a serious health battle: she has a tumor on her thyroid that is also affecting her heart. The good news is that with radioiodine treatment, her long-term prognosis is very positive.

Her humans, both loving senior citizens on a fixed income, simply don’t have the resources to cover this unexpected expense. Dotty’s “mom,” who is on oxygen and dealing with her own health challenges, finds immense comfort in Dotty’s calming presence. Her “dad,” age 76, treasures their evening snuggles while he relaxes with his favorite TV shows. Losing Dotty would be devastating to them both.

For years, Dotty has been their loyal, spunky companion. Lately, though, she hasn’t been herself, and this diagnosis has been heartbreaking. But there is hope- with the procedure, she can recover and continue bringing joy, love, and comfort to her family.
