Hello! I have a very close friend, Dottie (my ride or die), whose husband recently passed away. She is, of course, devastated. She has had to take off work to deal with his death emotionally, physically, and mentally. Because of this, she is not getting paid. She had applied for FMLA, but because it's considered personal leave, she doesn't get paid. She also needs to have insurance but will have to pay COBRA insurance. She needs her insurance as she is scheduled to have a very intense surgery in about 1-2 months. If anyone knows Dottie, they know she always shows up for everyone else, and now she needs us to show up for her. Dottie is the person who helped my family when my mom had her massive heart attack in 2019, and when my mom passed in 2020, she set up the cremation for me as I couldn't do it. When I moved to Texas, she helped my family get our house together when I couldn't. She has always treated my kids as her own (as she does with everyone). She is amazing and needs a little extra help. She had recently used all her PTO to take care of others and her husband and cannot afford the ridiculous price of COBRA.
