Help Dory recover from stomach surgery
Dory began vomitting water early evening on Thursday 7/3 and wouldn’t eat her dinner. I immediately knew something was wrong and took her to Irvine Valley Vet Emergency. With blood tests and x rays, they found elevated enzymes/pancreatitis and a blockage in her stomach. Surgery was the best option to safely remove it, it turned out to be some clothlike material, plastic pieces and grass. Dory is a chewer but she is almost always in our sight. Things happen but I’m so sad for her going through this. Thankfully I do have pet insurance with about 80% reimbursement but she is approaching her limit fast. With her consult, bloodwork, x rays, and surgery her total is around $11,500 not including her having to stay another night (7/5) because she is not recovering well so far and needs to be monitored longer. Everything do far has emptied my cash and maxed out 2 credit cards. I’m hopeful insurance will make this process easy and reimburse quickly, but I will have minimum $3k to handle which I am happy to work for but I have many offers for help. I struggle to accept help and just work my 4 jobs harder, but I’m grateful for the offers and opening up this GFM to cover the current balance for when I hopefully pick her up tomorrow (7/6).
Thank you so much for your support and for loving Dory.
*In the case I receive more than needed, the remaining amount will be donated to the rescue Dory was adopted through.
