Dory came into my life when I found her wandering the streets, alone and in distress. She was infested with fleas and ticks, her ears were in terrible shape, and to make things even more urgent, she was pregnant. I took her to the local shelter to check for a microchip, and while they did find one, the contact information for her original owner was disconnected. It broke my heart to think she may have been abandoned, left to fend for herself in such a vulnerable state.

Since bringing Dory home, I’ve done everything I can to give her a safe and loving environment. Unfortunately, she suffers from chronic ear infections that cause her constant pain and discomfort. After many vet visits, we learned that Dory needs a TECA surgery (Total Ear Canal Ablation) to have a chance at a healthy, pain-free life. Without this surgery, her quality of life will continue to decline, and she won’t be able to enjoy the long, happy life she deserves.

The funds raised will go directly to Dory’s surgery, hospitalization, medications, and exams. Every donation, no matter the size, will help us give Dory the care she needs. ***Update: Unfortunately, after her first ear surgery, she developed complications and we had to rush her to the emergency vet tonight 1/24/2026. They found an infection and bleeding that requires additional treatment. Original estimate was ~$5,000 for both ears. So far we’ve spent $1,800 on the first surgery and $1,500 at the ER tonight, with more care still needed.
