Help My Sister Dorothy Recover After House Fire & Receive Dementia Care
Dear Friends and Community,
My name is Margaret Irvin, and I’m reaching out to ask for help on behalf of my sister, Dorothy Irvin, who is facing two life-altering challenges: a recent house fire and a worsening struggle with dementia.
What Happened
Dorothy’s home in Saint Paul, Minnesota, was severely damaged by a fire that left her without a safe place to live. Thankfully, she escaped physical harm—but the trauma of this event has deeply affected her health and stability.
Dorothy has been living with dementia for some time, and this crisis has made it clear she now needs placement in a memory care facility while her home is assessed and repaired.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Insurance will not cover all of the damages, and memory care is expensive. Our family is doing everything we can, but we can’t do it alone. That’s why we’ve started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the most urgent needs.
How Your Support Will Help
Your donations will go toward:
Memory care facility stay – ensuring Dorothy has the safe, supportive environment she needs
Repairs to her fire-damaged home
Replacement of lost essentials – clothing, medical supplies, daily necessities
Other Ways to Help
If you or someone you know can:
Volunteer services (cleanup, rebuilding, supplies), or
Recommend trustworthy contractors in the Saint Paul, MN area,
please reach out. Any support—donations, time, referrals—is deeply appreciated.
Thank You
This has been a heartbreaking and overwhelming time for our family, but your kindness, prayers, and generosity will help bring stability and comfort to Dorothy during this difficult chapter.
With heartfelt thanks,
Margaret Irvin
