Help Dorota and Max Rebuild After Hurricane Ida
My name is Corrine Lynch and I live in Oceanside, NY. I am reaching out to our community, to our single moms, to the parents of Special needs kids for support for a fellow special needs mom. As we know, Hurricane Ida came in like a lion. It came in fast and without warning and destroyed so much. A mom (Dorota) and a special boy (Max) lost everything from the Hurricane. They lived in a beautiful apartment in NJ, and when Hurricane Ida roared in, she was merciless and took everything- every single thing they owned. A mom of a boy who has the same syndrome as Jason needs our help getting back on her feet. Navigating this life raising a child with a rare syndrome (Joubert Syndrome) is challenging to say the least, but our kids have given us strength, taught us determination, and has proven over and over again that miracles happen everyday. Overcoming obstacles is part of our DNA. We rise above anything, and because of this, we struggle with asking for help because for so long we’ve done it all on our own, but today a mom is asking for help. Help her begin to rebuild a safe, accommodating home for her and her son Max, help her to provide the perfect oasis for her special guy, help her to see the beauty the world has to offer from family, friends, mothers, community members, and strangers. It takes a village and we are asking our village to chip in in anyway, they can.
