Help Doris Hart Replace Fire Losses
Donation protected
My sister Doris Hart is fortunate to have been in the garage doing laundry on the upper level of the house in Castro Valley where she rented the basement flat, when the fire downstairs sparked and raged out of control. If she hadn't, due to her slow mobility, we would be having a different conversation. The house is on a hill and the garage is at street level.
As you can see in the video everything was destroyed. While it won't be possible to replace things with sentimental value, we hope to help her rent an apartment and replace the practical things needed for day-to-day life.
Ten years ago, she had a kidney transplant and all of her medicines were lost. When she went to the doctor the day after the fire, they discovered a treatable problem with her kidney. The bad news is that she lost material possessions. The good news is that fire sent her to the doctor's office in time to prevent a more serious health issue.
Thank you for any help you can give.
