Help Dorika Foundation Provide Desks for 770 Students in Malawi
Goal: $12,500
Location: Rumphi District, Malawi
Education is a right, not a privilege—but for many children in Kawaza Primary School, located in the poverty-stricken Rumphi District of northern Malawi, basic learning conditions are a daily struggle. Out of 770 students enrolled, less than 50 have the comfort of sitting on a proper desk. The majority sit on cold, dusty cement floors, and when it rains, the situation becomes unbearable. The wet floors make the classroom environment cold and damp, leaving children shivering, uncomfortable, and unable to concentrate.
We at Dorika Foundation believe that no child should be denied a proper learning environment. Having just concluded a successful initiative to provide school uniforms to 100 underprivileged students at Kawaza Primary, we’ve seen firsthand how even small interventions can restore dignity and reignite hope. The smiles on the children's faces and their renewed excitement for school are proof that change is possible.
Our next mission is to raise $12,500 to purchase desks for these students. This will go toward the procurement and delivery of durable classroom desks to ensure that every child has a place to sit, write, and learn comfortably. A desk may seem like a small thing—but to these children, it’s the difference between learning in discomfort and learning with pride.
Your contribution—no matter the size—will make a real and lasting impact. Together, we can help these children stay in school, feel valued, and have a chance at a brighter future. Let’s give them a reason to keep showing up, even when times are tough.
Please donate today and help us bring hope, comfort, and opportunity to Kawaza Primary School.
Every desk counts. Every donation matters.
With gratitude,
Dorika Foundation
