My name is Grace, and I've started this GoFundMe for my beautiful friend Stephanie Zaletel and her dog Dori.

Dori is more than just a dog—she’s Stephanie’s heart and soul. Through life’s hardest moments—navigating the pandemic, a divorce, becoming a full-time grad student, and being displaced by the Eaton Fires—Dori has been their unwavering companion. She has also been a beloved presence in the dance community, offering comfort inside studios and rehearsals.

Now, Dori needs our help. She recently underwent emergency surgery for a ruptured mass on her spleen, requiring multiple blood transfusions, a plasma transfusion, biopsies to confirm or (hopefully) rule-out cancer, and more. She has been hospitalized for 4 days and expenses have surpassed the original $15k estimate. Stephanie does not have pet insurance, and this has all had to come out of pocket during a financially tight time (being in school and displaced). Every dollar will help aid this special soul in her recovery as well as any expenses that arise in the months following such a critical procedure. All funds raised will go directly towards Dori’s veterinary care. Dori cannot wait to be back home cuddling with Stephanie, their partner Murphy, and Boogie!
