Help Dori Breathe : Lung Transplant Fund
Dori and Josh Clark have been married for nine years and have three amazing boys ages 8, 16 and 19. Dori’s health challenges began in 2013 while she was in college, when she was airlifted to Emory after a sudden health crisis. At that time, doctors believed it was due to extreme exertion, but two years later, Dori experienced another episode that led to her diagnosis of interstitial lung disease. Since then, she has faced many ups and downs, with flare-ups and frequent hospital visits becoming a part of her life. If you know Dori, you know she is the first person to offer a helping hand, a warm laugh, or a word of encouragement and has always been a pillar of strength for those around her. Today, however, Dori is facing the fight of her life, and she needs us to be her strength.
For the past thirteen years, Dori has been battling interstitial lung disease. What began as shortness of breath has progressed to a point where every day is a struggle. Dori is now on oxygen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In July of 2025, Dori was admitted to the hospital again and received the difficult news that her disease had progressed. Doctors told her that a lung transplant was now her only option, as no other treatments were available. This has been a challenging journey for Dori and her family, but her trust in God is what has helped her through this! In fact! One of Dori’s favorite Bible verses has really helped her on a daily basis along with a lot of prayers through it all!
For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11.
While a transplant offers a second chance at life, the journey is grueling. The surgery itself is just the beginning. Dori will require months of intensive recovery, lifelong immunosuppressant medications, and must live within a short distance of the transplant center in Atlanta for several months post-operation. The funds raised will help cover Dori’s mounting medical bills, travel expenses, and the cost of living away from home for three months after her transplant. Your generosity, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference for Dori and her family as they face this critical time. Any contribution, no matter the size, brings Dori one step closer to a deep, full breath. If you are unable to donate at this time, please consider sharing this page with your friends and family. Your prayers and shares are greatly appreciated and thank you for your support with Dori’s journey to recovery.
