I've started this fundraiser for my mother Doreen Leigh, to help her make this year a year of saying Yes to opportunities in life!
Many of you may know Doreen as a piano teacher at Edmonds Heights K-12. She is a musician, a writer, a comedian, and a role model for so many kids at that school.
Doreen has been in need of a new and reliable car for many years now. Her current car is a 1991 Buick Park Avenue with 166,000 miles on it, exterior damage, and water damage on the inside causing unhealthy conditions. It has been a "point A to point B" car for many years as it cannot go on the freeway and thus limiting her life in many ways. In addition, the car causes so much anxiety for her, not knowing if it will break down each day, and the problems are more frequent lately.
What's amazing is that Doreen manifested this very car for our family 13 years ago when she was in great need of one. She asked god for help getting a car, and within two hours a woman from Edmonds Heights called her offering her their Buick. She was told she might be able to get a couple more years out of the car, and here we are 13 years later! I believe the Buick (we named Buck) is finally on it's last days. A few days ago my mother told me it no longer starts.
My fiance Matt and I have been thinking about how to help her get a new car for about a year now. I knew the universe would give us the answer at some point if we put in the effort, and I believe this could be the answer.
Doreen is also eligible to have a much needed eye surgery this year, fixing her eyesight that has been so bad and has also prevented her from being able to do the things she wants to do in life. I would be so incredibly happy if we could help in changing her life by giving her the option to buy a reliable car for herself.
