Hi, I'm Dorcas, and I've been selected to play for Team Canada's Women's Over-50s field hockey team at the 2026 Masters World Cup in Rotterdam this July. It is such a joy and an honour, and I am buzzing!

Those who know me may know I've had the privilege of wearing the Canada jersey twice before, at the 2023 Masters World Cup in Auckland and the 2022 PanAm Games in Buenos Aires. Each time it has meant the absolute world to me.

The one hard part is that the Masters program is entirely self-funded with no government or federation support. Every athlete covers their own costs (flights, accommodation, kit, pre-tournament training camps and games) plus a share of coaching, support staff, and team costs at the tournament. In total, I need to raise around $7,000 CAD.

I'll be working extra hours to help pay, and also packing in many hours of training to be fit and strong for the tournament. Any support you can give - no matter how much - would help me make this happen and be deeply appreciated.
