Help Dora with End-of-Life Care

My name is Rachel, Dora’s daughter and only child. I’m raising funds to help her afford the end-of-life care she requires as well as final expenses.

My beautiful, strong, determined, smart, funny, Jesus loving mama is just 67 years old. Unfortunately, she has declined in health recently and can no longer further any cancer treatments. As many of you know, my mother has fought a hard and righteous battle for the last three years against stage 4 liver cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer has spread to her lungs and her earthly body has grown weary and depleted. She was placed in hospice care 3 weeks ago with 6 months or less to live. She requires 24/7 skilled nursing care in a hospice house setting - not what she nor any of us wanted, as the chance to pass away peacefully at home with her beloved cat Joey had always been the “plan”. But life is never a straight line, and often throws us some curve balls along the way. As you near the end of life, this is no different, and we have attempted to adjust and adapt to the new plan as graciously as possible.

The hospice house nurses and staff have been incredible. True angels on earth. But unfortunately the care is very costly and isn’t covered fully by Medicare due to the fact that they are a 24/7 hospice care provider. Any funds raised from this Go Fund Me will be to support our beloved Dora with end-of-life care and expenses as she prepares to soon leave us and experience heaven. We are heartbroken as is everyone who knows her.

Many have asked what she needs or how they can help. I’ve discussed this with her, and she has requested that in lieu of gifts, flowers, or food, the gift of a financial donation would be so incredibly appreciated. No contribution is too small.
