Hello, my name is Donovan Quinn. I am a freshman at Penn State University, studying aerospace engineering at the main campus. As my first semester comes to a close, I am struggling to meet the financial requirements needed to remain a student for the second semester.
The total cost of attendance at Penn State for this year is $38,000. I have worked hard to earn scholarships and secure loans, but despite these efforts, I still have a remaining balance of $6,451.24 to cover my second semester.
I truly love the environment at Penn State and am deeply committed to my academic and extracurricular pursuits. I am part of the ROTC program, the Penn State Boxing Club, and the Multicultural Engineering Program (MEPO). These activities, along with my rigorous coursework, leave little room for a job that fits my schedule while allowing me to maintain my academic focus.
Before attending Penn State, I graduated high school with high honors. I was a class officer, actively involved in community service, and an accomplished athlete. I played running back for the Tuscarora High School football team and won the Washington, DC Youth Golden Gloves championship as a boxer.
As I progress in my academic career, I will be eligible for more scholarships starting sophomore year, which will significantly ease my financial burden moving forward.
Anything you can contribute toward my goal of remaining a proud Penn State Nittany Lion would mean the world to me.
Thank you for your support,
Donovan Quinn
