On August 9th, Milwaukee experienced record-breaking, torrential rainfall that left neighborhoods across the city devastated. Among those hit hard were our dear friends, Donovan and Brooke Harris, and their two sweet dogs, Colby and Portis.

In just a matter of hours, floodwaters rushed into their home, destroying their furniture, flooring, drywall, photographs, and countless irreplaceable memories. Their basement—normally the heart of their home where they host friends, celebrate milestones, and create the kind of warm, welcoming space that makes everyone feel like family—was greatly damaged.

Unfortunately, the damage is not covered by insurance. Donovan and Brooke now face the daunting challenge of paying out of pocket and doing much of the restoration work themselves. Even for two resourceful, hardworking people, the cost of rebuilding is overwhelming.

If you know Donovan and Brooke, you know they are the first to show up when someone else is in need. They’ve opened their home to so many of us over the years—whether it’s for a holiday, a game night, or just to share a laugh. Now, it’s our turn to show up for them.

We’re asking for any support you can give to help them replace what was lost and restore their basement so it can once again be a place filled with laughter, love, and community.
