Hello, my name is Lorna and I am raising funds for my brother and his family who lost their home. They were one of the 36 units impacted by the Spadina Apartment fire on August 5, 2026.

In a matter of moments, Donny, his partner, and their five (5) children lost everything.

What began as a normal day turned into a life-changing tragedy when the Spadina Apartment Fire destroyed the place they called home. The building has suffered extensive fire, smoke, and water damage and is no longer safe to live in. Along with their home, they lost their clothing, furniture, treasured keepsakes, school supplies and the everyday essentials most of us often take for granted.

Today, this loving family of seven (7), including four (4) teenagers and a six-year-old child, faces the overwhelming challenge of starting over from nothing.

No one should have to rebuild alone.

Throughout difficult times, Community has always been a source of strength. When one family falls, others step forward to help lift them up. This is an opportunity to show Donny and his family that they are not alone, and that the support of caring people can help turn tragedy into hope.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help provide:

Emergency housing and moving expenses

Assistance securing a new home

Clothing and footwear for the parents and children

Food, toiletries, and household necessities

Beds, furniture, and basic home furnishings

School supplies, backpacks, and children's essentials

Replacement of important personal belongings
