Help Donnie Snyder: Battling Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Cassidy Snyder and my dad is Donnie Snyder. Most of you know him as a fun-loving, outgoing guy who loves life. He is always the life of the party and would give the shirt off his back to those he loves and everyone in between. Things over the last few weeks have been extremely difficult for him and he is now in need of love, support, encouragement and most of all PRAYERS!!!
In December my dad started experiencing eye pain that was treated with eye drops but didn’t get better. On Monday, January 20th he went for a second opinion and a CT scan of his sinuses revealed a large mass behind his eye and the following day was confirmed by MRI. Things escalated pretty quickly from here as the mass was touching the optic nerve. He was quickly referred to Augusta for immediate evaluation. Here he met with an Oculoplastic surgeon who completed an exploratory surgery and biopsy on January 31st. Sadly on February 4th he was hit with a brutal diagnosis of Metastatic Melanoma. Since that day he’s completed an MRI Brain and a PET scan which showed 2 additional spots in the brain and multiple nodules in both lungs. This led to an official diagnosis by his oncologist of Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma, which is devastatingly incurable.
My mom and dad have been traveling back and forth to Augusta, GA for all appts, treatments and follow ups. He’s completed 5 radiation treatments and is scheduled March 11th for Gamma Knife. We learned yesterday that he will be on pill form radiation for the rest of his life.
With all of this said, comes the hard part where we’ve had to humble ourselves and ask boldly for help. Unfortunately with the cancer involving the eye and negatively impacting vision, my dad is unable to drive and unable to work. He has been out of work since December with no return date at this time. This has been extremely stressful for our family, aside from my dad for my mom too as she is the only source of income currently. A medical emergency such as this doesn’t stop the normal bills from rolling in and simply adds to the stress. Any money raised will be used towards travel expenses, medical bills, imaging and radiation treatments. Even if you are unable to donate, PLEASE send prayers!! This has been extremely tough on all of us, but as his children we want to see our daddy kick cancers A**!! Thank you to everyone for your continued love, support and prayers during this difficult time!
Love, Cassidy Ashton and Addison Snyder! ❤️
