Help Donnie Overcome His Cancer Journey

My name is Arlene and I am raising money for my son in law who is fighting Cancer. Donnie has been sick since June 2023. He had multiple EGD completed and was told he had an ulcer and started medication. The order a CT scan of the abdomen for further investigation. He was told his gallbladder was bad and needed to removed but there were suspicious lymph nodes and was referred to UPMC Liver Cancer Specialist. He ordered Needle Guided Ultrasound biopsies. He had several biopsies of the lymph nodes due to suspicious characteristics. The biopsies came back as follicular lymphoma but did not have a classification. In December he had his gallbladder removed with a robot due to not wanting to open him up. While having his gallbladder removed they removed several lymph nodes to classify which type of cancer. December 26, 2023 he was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and treatment was started. The lymphoma was in his neck, armpits, and mainly in the stomach region. He was continuing treatments when they ordered a CT scan to see if the first line of treatments had been working. The scans came back that the treatments worked in the neck and armpits, but not in the stomach region. Treatments were stopped and referred him back to Pittsburgh. A new Pet scan and colonoscopy. The Pet Scan showed not much change in the stomach region but biopsies from colonoscopy came back that the cancer was now in the small intestines. He once again started treatments and added a chemo pill as well. Radiation is not an option due to organs in the area. This has left him unable to work due to ongoing fatigue, nausea, and uncontrollable bowels. He has been out of work since December with no income, due to employer doesn’t have short term disability. He is hoping once he starts the chemo pills and with treatments will help put it into remission so he can return to work. This had put a strain on the family financially without Donnie’s income.
