Hello everyone, my name is Rita Austin and I am raising money to help my youngest brother during this time. He checked into the hospital Feb. 6,2022. Doctors have diagnosed him with Goodpasture Syndrome, which is a very rare autoimmune disease that attacks the antibodies of your kidneys and lungs. His kidneys were shutting down and his lungs were full of fluid. Donnie was on dialysis and blood transfusions daily until Feb. 24,2022, it will be a treatment that he will have to continue but he was allowed to return home. He was released and was waiting for a medical release to see if he could return to work. Earlier this morning he started throwing up blood and was admitted back into the hospital. Donnie has custody of his three kids and he is the sole provider for his household. While in hospital he has used all sick, vacation and PTO. We are now at a time where he needs help moving forward. Until the doctors can find out what is going on he cannot return to work. And believe me when I say they are trying, he is under the care of some of the best doctors at UTMB Galveston but they are even having a hard time treating this diagnosis. If you can please help me help my brother, it is greatly appreciated. I’m raising to help with rent, groceries and misc bills at least for this upcoming month. If you can every little bit helps.
