Help Edna Walk Again with C-Brace
Donation protected
My name is Donna and I am raising money to help my mom walk again. My mom contracted polio* when she was a toddler, which caused her right leg to become paralyzed. She has spent her entire life battling this terrible disease, along with many other debilitating health conditions. To make matters worse, a few years ago, she was also diagnosed with post polio syndrome* which is causing a gradual deterioration of her healthy muscles.
As a single mom of two, she has always done her very best to endure all of the pain and suffering with a smile on her face in order to provide a beautiful life for me and my brother. But having to constantly rely on others in order to perform basic daily activities has taken a huge toll on her emotional well being. Over the years, we have consulted with doctors and specialists, and while there are no cures for her health conditions, we have been told that her only chance of walking on her own and gaining even the slightest semblance of independence is to get her the life changing C-Brace*.
The C-Brace would allow my mom to perform basic daily tasks, help alleviate a lot of her physical pain, enable her to become more active, and also empower her to do some of the things she never could before — the little things we all take for granted like walking down the street.
I know that there are so many worthy causes out there, but I also know that my mom is my hero and so deserving of a better life where she is not suffering and has the ability to perform the most fundamental daily activities. If we don’t try this, we’ll never know what we could have achieved for her. So we thank you for taking the time to read our story! We are grateful for any donation, or even just a share!
